New Exhibits. Refreshed Favorites.
This November, the Galveston Children's Museum will begin a two-year residency in the Discovery Museum at Moody Gardens. But this move is about more than relocating. It is an opportunity to reimagine what GCM can offer the children and families of Galveston, with new experiences, refreshed favorites and more opportunities to learn, explore and belong. And we're inviting our community to help us build it.
As a nonprofit children's museum, GCM relies on community support to grow beyond what admissions and program fees alone can provide.
A Museum Designed for More Children
Our vision is a museum where more children can fully participate in play. Braille signage, ASL storytelling, tactile elements and sensory-rich experiences will help us create opportunities for children with different abilities and learning needs to explore alongside their families.
Every gift helps us build, repair and reimagine the hands-on experiences children will discover in our new home at Moody Gardens.
GCM's Next Chapter
When you donate to GCM, you help to build our next chapter of the Galveston Children's Museum:
-
New Exhibits – New interactive exhibits help educate through play
-
Refreshed Exhibits – Upgrading favorites to better meet needs
-
Sensory Experiences – New experiences catering to all senses
-
Braille – Tactile upgrades allow special needs children to read
-
ASL – Visual upgrades allow all children to enjoy story time
GCM's goal is to make the Galveston Children's Museum a welcoming and fulfilling experience to all visiting children, regardless of their special needs
