Birthday Party Package — $250

Whether you're planning a birthday party, group gathering, or private event, the Galveston Children’s Museum offers the perfect space for memorable, hands-on fun (without the stress).

Party Time Slots

Saturday: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Sunday: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Your Party Includes

  • 2-hour rental of a private party room

  • Three 6-foot tables for food/gifts

  • Four 8-foot tables for seating, sink, fridge, and freezer

  • All-day museum admission for up to 35 guests (ages 2 & up)

  • A dedicated birthday host to assist during your event

  • Guests can explore the museum before or after your party

  • Additional guests (ages 2 & up): $7 each

  • Children under 2 are free and not counted in guest total

Booking & Payment

$100 deposit required to reserve your date. 

Final payment is due on the day of your event. 

 

Submitting your party request does not confirm your reservation. A team member will follow up by phone or email to confirm availability and finalize your booking.

What to Know Before You Book

  • Adults must supervise children at all times (at least 1 adult per 7 kids)

  • No alcohol, tobacco, or open flames (including birthday candles)

  • Decorations may only be affixed with masking tape

  • Neither glitter nor confetti are allowed

  • No food or drinks in the exhibit areas—party room use only

  • You may bring your own food, drinks, cake, and party supplies

  • Please check in at the front desk upon arrival to meet your party host

  • Cancellations must be made at least 14 days in advance for deposit refund

Party & Rental FAQs

Can I arrive early to set up?

Yes! You’ll have access to the party room 30 minutes before your scheduled start time to decorate and get everything ready. A museum host will be there to assist.

Are adults included in the guest count?

Yes. Anyone age 2 and up (adult or child) counts toward your total of 35 guests. Additional guests—up to 10 are allowed—are $7 each.

Do I need to clean up afterward?

Yes. You’ll have 15 minutes after your party ends to gather your decorations, leftover food, and personal items. A museum host will help with trash.

How much does it cost to host a party?

The Birthday Party Package is $250, which includes access to the museum and party room for 2 hours during a specified time slot. A $50 deposit is required to reserve your party time.

If you need a more flexible time, we offer private museum rentals at $400. A $100 deposit is required to reserve your private party.

Is my deposit refundable if I cancel?

Your deposit is refundable only if you cancel at least 14 days in advance of your scheduled event.

Is there a charge if we go past our allotted time?

Yes, an additional fee of $50 will be charged for every 30 minutes over the scheduled time, after a grace period of 15 minutes.

What's included in the party room?

We provide tables, chairs, and access to a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and sink. Everything will be set up for you before your arrival.

Can I bring food, drinks, and decorations?

Yes! You’re welcome to bring food, drinks, tablecloths, and party décor. Just note: 1) No food or drinks are allowed in exhibit areas, 2) No glitter, confetti, or open flames, and 3) Only masking tape may be used to hang decorations.

Who is responsible for supervising children?

All children must be actively supervised by an adult at all times. We require at least one adult for every seven children. You are responsible for ensuring your guests follow museum rules.

Can guests explore the rest of the Moody Mansion?

No. Guests are limited to the museum areas only. Access to the upper levels or other parts of the Moody Mansion is strictly prohibited and may result in your party ending early.

Are there any health or COVID guidelines?

Yes. We ask that all guests be healthy and symptom-free. Please use the provided hand sanitizer stations and stay home if you've been recently ill or exposed to COVID.
